Kidlington-Waterside Training Camp
June 14th 2025

Report

On Saturday 14 th June, Kidlington Forum TTC welcomed Waterside TTC to Forum for a full-day intensive training camp with both sides sending some of their best tournament-players to represent their clubs.

The camp lasted from 9.30am to 5pm and involved four rounds of intense specialised practices in singles & doubles, tactical match-play exercises and a full- scale friendly fixture between the two sides – with Waterside taking home the honours as worthy winners in a high-quality contest.

The camp was an excellent success with all players from both sides training and competing hard and in great spirit – it was most pleasing to see both sides learning from each other and implementing the tactics practiced within the fixture at the end. The inspiration for this training camp and general collaboration between the clubs came as a result of the whisker-tight British League race this season; it was wonderful for our two sides to work together as training partners after a titanic battle this season.

Thank you to all the Kidlington players for the team-effort in running the event and for Waterside for making the journey. Special additional thanks must go to Kiarash Shaddel & Karl Bushell from Kidlington and Claire Kelly & John McBeath for all of their efforts behind the scenes to organise this unique event! We look forward to further collaboration between our two clubs.

There is more information, player photos & bios and programme of the day, in the booklet made for this event PDF file. Note that this booklet has been designed for printing so the pages might be in an unusual order.
